Proportion: Making a 1/2" Grid

Introduction to Art

Objective: Students will demonstrate synthesis by creating

a 1/4" grid and turning it into a 1/2" grid with 80% accuracy 

and 100% completion by the end of class.

Today we will be reviewing our vocabulary and learning how to
make a one 1/4" grid over an image and then make the image twice
as large by creating a 1/2" grid.

Homework: print out a school appropriate image that shows
foreshortening and is no larger than half a page.

Art 3/4 & 5/6 

Objective: Students will demonstrate synthesis by designing

a thumbnail and labeling how they will use tenebrism with 

100% completion by the end of class.

Today we going to begin our thumbnails using extreme chiaroscuro-tenebrism.
A way that artists show emphasis and focal point is to use high contrast with
light and dark.

Balance: Critique

Introduction to Art

Objective: Students will demonstrate knowledge by 

recording definitions with 80% accuracy and 100% 

completion by the end of class.

Please grab an art talk book from the shelf and turn to page 255.

Once finished, we will answer the questions in Check your understanding
on page 259, 266 and 273. Once finished, please turn in.

Balance: Finals Due

Today we will finish our Informal Balance project. You must use some type of
Informal balance. (color, texture, value, position, size and contour)

We will be using chalk pastels.
These mediums are very MESSY so clean up after yourself if you
want to keep your art materials privileges! :)

Balance:

Introduction to Art

identifying vocabulary words with 80% accuracy

 by the end of class.

                                                       3. rough draft

Today we will review our Balance vocabulary to make sure we all
understand the meanings. Then, we will begin our thumbnails for
the new project in balance. You must choose some type of Informal
balance. (color, texture, value, position, size and contour) You may
draw anything that is school appropriate as long as you stick to the
Informal balance guide line. We will be using charcoal and chalk
pastels.
