Introduction to Art
One Point Perspective City Drawing
Today we put tracing paper OVER our city pictures we researched yesterday and found the vanishing point.
To do that, simply find an implied line (the top of a building, row of windows, sidewalk, etc.) align your ruler to it and draw a line extending the length of the tracing paper. Do this several times and all of your lines will line up in one spot which is your vanishing point. This point will be the most important part to drawing your city.

Two Point Perspective Building Drawing
Today we put tracing paper over our building pictures we researched yesterday and found the vanishing points. (If your image is too dark, you can place your image on top of the tracing paper)
To do that, simply find an implied line (the top of a building, row of windows, sidewalk, etc.) on one side of the building and align your ruler to it and draw a line extending the length of the tracing paper. Do this several times and all of your lines will line up in one spot which is one of your vanishing points. Repeat on other side to find second vanishing point. These points will be the most important part to drawing your building. Your vanishing points will most likely be off of the image paper and possibly off of the tracing paper.
